These two works are from my picture book “My Journey”, two large-scale works.
The origin of the picture book "My Journey" came from the inspiration of reading picture books when I was a child. I am a person with a dreamy constitution.
Dream every night, feel and clearly write down your dreams.
For me, every night's 'dream' is like a magical journey. Although the beautiful memories of the journey will fade away with time, through creation, I can record the memories of the journey in my dreams.
The work "Childhood Garden" depicts the sweet and beautiful dreams and imaginations of childhood. I am an only child and had no brothers or sisters to accompany me at home when I was a child, so I liked to play with two cousins of similar age. I remember one time we were running and playing in the garden, but I forgot whether it was a real memory or a scene of play in a dream. I painted my cousins as elves to record my happy mood at that time.
What is Reality? This work is about the protagonist of the picture book passing through a door from the dream world and returning to the real world. The childhood garden, the magic greenhouse where teenagers play, and the encounter with the werewolf prince are all filled with the travel experiences in the dream. It is often said that life is like a dream. Is the scene of our life real, or is the experience in the dream real? When waking up from a dream, sometimes we forget who we are and what role we play? Or in another time and space, we have a different identity? The picture uses a dark background, and gradually brightens the brightness of the scenery to present the moment of trance when waking up from a dream.
